Dumpsters for Central Orange County Homes
The Town of Blooming Grove sits in the middle of Orange County, between Monroe and Chester to the south and New Windsor and Cornwall to the north. Its biggest population center is the Village of Washingtonville, a small village on NYS Route 94 (Main Street) and NYS Route 208, about five miles from both I-84 and Route 17. The town also includes the Village of South Blooming Grove next to Monroe, plus hamlets and lake neighborhoods like Salisbury Mills along Moodna Creek and the Beaver Dam Lake area to the east.
Most of it is single-family homes on village streets, cul-de-sac subdivisions, and wooded or sloped lots near the creek and lakes. That means steady demand for kitchen and bath remodels, roof replacements, basement and garage cleanouts, estate cleanouts when a family home is sold, and storm cleanup after a windy season.

Village or Town? Know Who to Ask
Washingtonville is an incorporated village inside the Town of Blooming Grove, and the village and the town each have their own building department. If the container has to go on a street, a sidewalk, or any public right-of-way instead of your own driveway, ask the right office first:
- Inside the Village of Washingtonville: check with the Village of Washingtonville Building Department or village hall.
- Elsewhere in the Town of Blooming Grove (including Salisbury Mills and outside the villages): check with the Town of Blooming Grove Building Department.
- Village of South Blooming Grove: check with that village.
A dumpster on your own private driveway usually doesn't need a street permit, but rules differ by municipality and can change. We can't quote permit fees or code requirements for you, so a quick call to the village or town office is the safe move. If you're doing a renovation, ask whether the work itself needs a building permit too. That's separate from the dumpster.
Driveway Tips for This Area
- Slopes and soft ground: lots near Moodna Creek and the lakes can be sloped or soggy after rain. Pick a level, firm spot, and ask for boards under the rails.
- Trees and wires: the truck needs clear overhead room to tip the container off and lift it back on. Point out low branches and service lines when you book.
- Septic systems: keep the container and the truck off septic tanks, leach fields, and well caps. Tell us where they are.
- Shared driveways: get your neighbor's OK if the box will narrow a shared drive.

Questions
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Washingtonville?
If it sits on your own driveway, usually not. If it has to go on a village street or sidewalk, check with the Village of Washingtonville first. Outside the village, ask the Town of Blooming Grove. Requirements can change, so confirm before delivery.
What size dumpster is common for a Washingtonville home?
For a single kitchen or bath remodel, many homeowners start with a 10–15 yard. For a whole-floor renovation or a large cleanout, a 20 yard is common. Heavy roofing or concrete loads often call for a smaller container. Describe the job and we'll recommend a size.
Do you cover Salisbury Mills and Beaver Dam Lake?
Yes. We cover Salisbury Mills, the Beaver Dam Lake area, South Blooming Grove, and the rest of Blooming Grove, plus nearby New Windsor and Cornwall. Call (347) 669-3407 with your street to confirm scheduling.
Can you just haul away junk without a dumpster?
Yes. With junk removal, a crew loads furniture, appliances, and clutter and takes it away in one visit.
